Hello World!
I’m Krystin – writer, creative, former analyst, wife to Ryan, mama to Luca and Loki.
We’re Philly-born North Carolinians raising our family with Northern attitude and Southern charm (and to be up front with you from the beginning, I debated over that line for a good 2 weeks but it won me over). We moved to NC 4 years ago and immediately fell in love with the weather, people and lifestyle. We bought a house in the suburbs surrounded by trees and have made it our own little oasis.
I love reading and learning about people. I thought an introduction post would be the perfect way to kick off this blogging journey and for y’all to get to know me!
Ryan and I have been together for 9 years.
We met 13 years ago while working at a grocery store in the Philly suburbs. It was love at first sight for me (I actually told my mom I was going to marry him) but not so much for Ry. We “re-met” 5 years later at a Halloween party at a local bar. I was dressed as a cupcake and Ry was Mike “The Situation” from Jersey Shore – oh 2010! I love thinking about that night. It makes me laugh that we looked at each other’s costume choices and thought “yeah, I’m into this.” That night I spilled a Twisted Tea on Ry, wouldn’t let him kiss me on the lips and killed his car battery while sitting in the driver’s seat bragging about how I could drive stick-shift. It’s a true testament to our love that we’ve been together ever since.
Luca and Loki are everything to me.
Luca was born last October. His birth changed me in the best way and made me who I’m meant to be. Motherhood is my most precious and treasured gift and I am so thankful I’ve been given the opportunity to grow and raise babies. Loki is a Samoyed (“suh-MOY-ed”) or a big fluffy white dog as we’ve come to describe her when people aren’t familiar with the breed. She’s one and a half years old, the cutest (and knows it) and does whatever she wants.
It’s been on my heart to stay home with Luca since the moment they laid him on my chest. Last month I left my corporate job of over 4 years to realize that dream. I loved my job and the people I worked with but I knew home is where I was supposed to be – raising babies, serving and caring for my family. With this change, I thought it the perfect time to start a blog as a place to share our life and my passions.
If you’re curious why you should listen to me or read my content, I’ll put it simply – I don’t like to waste time.
We are given a finite amount of time on this Earth and every single second counts. I set out to enjoy every moment, even the mundane ones! If I can find a way to bring joy to doing laundry, I want to share that! So in my pursuit of this, I’ve created efficiencies, found products and hacks to make life happier and easier.
I also love to cook and bake, if you come to my house I’m going to make you eat. I think it’s the Italian in me, I’m a nurturer and I love feeding people. I want this blog to be an extension of my home, I’ll be sharing my favorite recipes that hopefully you’ll want to make for your family and friends.
