September Amazon Favorites
It’s time for an Amazon favorites round-up for the month of September! A lot of what I purchased this month was for the home but I did buy a few things for me — the bangle key ring card holder is amazing! I’ve been feeling the nesting itch for weeks (so early this time around!) and have been needing to make some changes.
I focused on some small changes for now but will be making some bigger home changes soon. Our families are coming down from Philly for Luca’s birthday and it’s always nice to have quality time together and also to have some help on house projects since we don’t have any family close.
- Bangle Key Ring Card Holder. This is my second one of these. I ordered the cheetah back in March before the quarantine started but it was actually great for when I did have to leave the house because I would only bring that with me and still have essentials without feeling like I was getting germs all over everything. I ordered the gray this time and I think I’m going to get the cheetah too. It’s so inexpensive but sturdy and the bangle is perfect for when you’re out and don’t want to lose your keys/wallet and you don’t want to bring a full purse.
- Essential Oil Diffuser. This was Wirecutter’s pick for an essential oil diffuser and if there’s anything you should know about my husband it’s that he lives by Wirecutter recommendations. He bought thisvdiffuser for his office area upstairs and I’d been wanting one for our downstairs so now we have two of these. The diffuser has a timer function and the option to have a colored light (there are quite a few), white light, dim light or no light. I usually use it with no light but it’s nice to have the option.
- Dowan Pasta / Soup Bowls. I LOVE THESE BOWLS. Our dishware is rectangle-based and beautiful but our bowls have a small bottom. I really wanted a flat bowl to serve pasta, soups and salads but didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I found the Dowan brand on Amazon and the price and reviews had me sold. I bought the pasta/soup bowls and the 10 ounce small bowls and I love them so much. The quality is great, they hold up well in the dishwasher and they help me with my food presentation — they’re the best.
- Scrub Daddy Colors. If you order anything off of this list make it either the bowls or these sponges. These sponges are a dishwashing game changer. I will never (bold statement I know) use another sponge.
- Indoor Door Mat. We had a pretty large rug in our foyer but Loki chewed on the edges forever ago and the playroom is right next to the foyer with a whole-room rug and the combination of the two didn’t look great. I knew I wanted something smaller that would stay there (Loki gets the zoomies and was constantly kicking up the rug). This mat was actually a lightning deal so I quickly grabbed it thinking if it didn’t work for the front door I’ll use it at the back door. But it looks great in the space, the size is just right and it has stayed in place through Loki’s zoomies.
- Mason Jar Lids. I was using my Thermoflask as my go-to water bottle for months but I wanted to switch to a clear container. I have a lot of large mason jars so I bought these cute bamboo lids to go on top. They have a really tight seal and a straw hole (I love these straws because they’re metal with a silicon top) and come with 2 lids that fit the wide mason jars and 2 that fit the regular size. I’ve even put them on smaller mason jars for Luca to drink out of and he loves them!
- OXO Soap Dispenser. The pump on our old soap dispenser broke and I hate having the soap bottle on the counter. We love the OXO brand products and this soap dispenser is no different. The brushed stainless steel matches our faucet and the pump works so well.
- 12 Pack Folder Folders. My work “desk” is the kitchen counter bar. It’s also where we would put the mail and any coupons/paperwork and it was driving me crazy. I moved a bookcase in our living room, found a letter holder that I used at the office and bought these folders to organize the mess. The designs are so cute and they each have a little flap on one side to help store paper. My “desk” is a much happier space now.
- Soduko Puzzle Book. Ryan has never played Soduko before — isn’t that crazy?! He started watching this math game educational program and Soduko was one of the games the guy talks about it. He ordered this book to finally start playing. As soon as it came in I stole it but then I felt bad and really wanted a copy of my own so I ordered another. It’s so fun and a great way to work your mind and decompress.
